Apricots

Writer's picture: kariletterneaukariletterneau

It was the apricot trees that spoke to me when we first visited this home.

The yard needed work.

The house needed work.

But these trees were perfect.

Just look at their beauty in the spring.

Our first summer here, they failed to produce.

But this year has been a different story.

They have produced in abundance and when I see them on our dinner table I am reminded of how far we have come.

What we've learned about apricot trees:

THINNING!!! Our apricots are tiny. Although they still taste amazing, they would grow to a larger size if we thinned them once the fruit started to come in. It's recommended to thin them approximately 2 inches apart.

Next time!!
